About

I’m a New York City–based award-winning creative and art director whose work encompasses digital design, print publications and a variety of collateral. My clients have been a diverse mix: I’ve worked on projects for global luxury brands such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Carolina Herrera, and my groundbreaking book designs include luxury coffee-table tomes for Rizzoli New York, travel guides for Fodor’s, a first-of-its-kind history of NBC television, children’s books for the Mad/Dash Kids imprint and all Mad/Dash titles since 2012. In addition, the two-volume history and cookbook I designed and produced for Palmaz Vineyards in Napa Valley, Tradition, Terroir and Technology and At the Table and Around the Fire, won the 2016 Benjamin Franklin Award gold medal in the cookbook category from the Independent Book Publishers Association.

None of this has been an accident. I like books, a lot, and I especially like designing them: covers, dust jackets, interiors, production, from the first stage of the process until the final work is printed and delivered. That entails—as any independent designer will readily attest—working with (often after having hired) illustrators and photographers, creating and maintaining production schedules, adhering with unyielding rigidity to deadlines and managing printers and other outside vendors. I am, to be only slightly dramatic, a bookmaking machine.
